Modern UI
Attractive and functional Windows 8 style user interface.
In December ’12 the exceptionally talented developer Mr Adam Dawes was in contact regarding his upcoming release for Windows 8, RSS Central.
RSS Central has proved to be a very popular addition to the Windows Phone marketplace, with great support from Adam. I had worked with him previously on the phone app, so it was a great opportunity to extend that and hopefully repeat the apps success on the tablet & desktop.
The first step was to provide some quick paintovers and options for the User Interface, over the initial Beta. We both felt it was important to keep within the ‘Modern’ styling of the platform but hopefully add a bit of personality to the mix.
One thing Adam wanted to implement from the mobile app was a theming option for either backgrounds or colour themes. By using varied opacity levels rather than solid elements, it was quickly possible to have a look at a few options
Once the design was agreed upon, Adam set to work on implimenting the design within the app, alongside developing the app. This gave the opportunity to head into getting a welcome presentation video ready for the release alongside a selection of web graphics for a new Facebook Page.
The 3D tablet Model for the introduction was created & rendered in 3D Studio Max, then composited with screen footage into Adobe Premiere. Whilst this was quickly put together, the thought process was, in this format the video can be more easily updated upon new releases of the app.
RSS Central is available in both the Windows 8, and Windows Phone Stores, a free trial is available with the full version priced at an extremely reasonable 99p! Scroll down to read more and reveal the download links.
